Young plasma transfusion infuses plasma from a younger donor into an older adult. The use is unapproved. Mouse work shows short-lived tissue changes. Human studies are small safety series in memory and movement disorders. No comparison with enough participants shows it outperforms salt-water for cognition, function, or biological age. Ordinary transfusion harms apply. Not a demonstrated longevity therapy. (Full Review)
| Marker | Target | Why |
|---|---|---|
| ABO/Rh type and screen | Compatible unit available | Prevents ABO-mismatched plasma |
| Serum IgA | Detectable; not deficient | Flags anaphylaxis risk |
| NT-proBNP | Track vs own baseline; conventional often <125 pg/mL | Volume-overload risk |
| Blood pressure | Individual baseline; not uncontrolled hypertension | Intraprocedure swings |
| CMP | Creatinine stable vs baseline; ionized calcium in lab range | Kidney reserve and citrate binding |
| CBC | Hemoglobin and platelets stable vs baseline | Hemodilution, unexpected cytopenias |
Cadence: During each infusion, at 24 hours, at the end of a four-week block, then at about four weeks after the last unit
